 My jcp likes it hot, real HOT!

so i’m keeping an almost 2 foot jungle in a 55 gallon aquarium.

my temp is 78-80 on the cool end

80-90 on the other

his basking spot stays around 100 during the day. 90 at night, he almost never leaves that spot, is that normal???

also i have a red light that runs 24/7

my humidity stays around 50-60 except when shedding, but my snake despises high humidty. when i mist his cage he gets kinda angry at me

i feed every 3-4 days

Carpets really don’t need high humidity. They come from Australia. He is probably going towards the heat lamps because it is dryer near them.

try feeding every 7-10 days. being that the snake is eating every 3 to 4 days it could be staying in the hot spot for digestion. give this feeding schedule a shot and maybe that will make it more active. keep us posted.
