Any advice would be helpful with my IJ Hello, im not new to this site but this is the first time in a long time i have posted a message. Usually i find the answer to one of my questions in an old post. Ok i have an adult female Irian Jaya carpet python and it seems that she has gotten more aggressive the older she gets. As a baby she would let me pick her up any time i wanted and she wouldnt strike or bite or any of that. Now whenever i try to get her out of her cage she strikes and hisses and has turned into a very nasty snake. She is really jumpy, so if i go to get her out of her cage and she touches herself with her tail or something she jumps and gets really defensive. I know some carpets are known to get nippy but this is crazy. My two other carpets are sweet and have never bitten me. I guess im just wondering if anyone has had a snake that jumpy or if anyone has any advice for me to calm her down. Her tank is the correct temps she has plenty of room, she eats everything i put in front of her. I dont know what it could be.

Any advice would be helpful with my IJ Something is stressing your snake out. My first thought is that she might have something physically wrong. If there is any internal ailment, and she is in some kind of pain, that would stress her out.
I would take her to a qualified vet just to have her checked out. Tell the vet about her behavior. I think it would be good to at least rule out any possible physical problems that might be stressing her out.
Also, does she have good cover in her cage? That is, does she have good hiding places to feel safe and secure?

Any advice would be helpful with my IJ She has a plastic store bought cave that i got for free but i really dont like it so ive been thinking of just making a hidebox myself. ive never even thought of her being stressed out. that never even crossed my mind. I have no idea how she could be in physical pain but that makes a lot of sense. I will go get her checked out by a vet and straighten this all out. Im going to make some changes to her cage and get her checked. Thank you farout as silly as it sounds, i never thought she was stressed out. I just thought she was mean.
