 New Green Tree Python

I got it from the reptile exp in Denver.... don’t have it situated, or in a cage yet because I live in Albuquerque and have to drive back there in two days.
Now, I know a taller tank is obviously better than a long one.
How many gallons, though?

and I’ve heard that rat crawlers aren’t good to feed this particular species of python to. They say that it’s just not healthy for them. Is this true?
and even though it’s a hatchling, I’m thinking it should start off on fuzzies every ten days immediately?

I’d go to www.finegtps.com and read all the care information there right away. Newly hatched gtps are at the most critical stage for humidity and temp issues. A shoebox sized tub is most suitable at this size. These snakes do better with more lateral rather than vertical space. The height of caging for adults should be about 24" with width about 24-36". You’ve got at least a couple years before you’ll need to worry about adult housing.

Babys are very susceptible to prolapse and you definitely don’t want to feed too big of meals. I feed mice pinks to all my neonates once a week. Adult GTPS do great on jumbo mice as their regular meal also and there is no need to ever have to feed rats.
