 Death of my friend

it is kind of a funny story how i acquired my first burm, she was sold to me as a almost full grown albino corn snake. i had went to a local pet store a few times and noticed her even handled her for about a months before i bought her. at first she was small. (i didn’t want a big snake it was my first)
there was just something her that drew me to her. i had always been afraid of snakes, being bitten by a timber rattler when i was fifteen, but there was just something about her, love at first sight so to speak. Well after she reached five feet rather quickly i began to google corn snakes and much to my surprise they didn’t match my Isabel, i even took her to a vet to conform my suspicion. Well much to my surprise i spent 45 dollars on a albino corn snake on sale that was probably worth a few hundred. my Isabel quickly grew on everyone in the house, and the findings that she was a burm caused some uproar but not to much, we had watched her grow from about two and a half feet to five then so on with content so we just couldn’t part with her. she was almost like one on my children even been in the family longer. I had her for about three years, pushing four well last winter we had a horrible ice storm, knocking out the power, my friend froze to death devastating my family and even my neighbors who loved to see me take her out of her cage. i miss her terribly, i miss her gentleness about her she loved to have under her head scratched i heard that was rare in a snake, i miss the way she kept my in laws away, i even miss the way she hated my brother with a passion. he was the only person she ever bit.(boy she got him good right in the face) I just miss my friend, i am sure anyone who has a burm they became attached too would understand. my girlfriend a few months later went to a pet store, to order a isabel look alike and heard of another burm that had gotten to big for thier currrent owner and no one wanted, they were going to put her down if they couldn’t find a new home for her. She quickly bought the Burm for 250 dollars and a sort of carring sack. She was fifeteen feet when we got her. I named her lucy she was in horrible shape when we got her i nursed her back to health, feedin her, ensureing she always had fresh water and a heat lamp. She is now healthy after about six months of babying she isn’t my isabel that i watched grow but she has definately worked herself into our hearts. she isn’t as gentle as isabel was but she is getting better, i think that me feeding her and takeing care of her has made the differance. They say snakes aren’t very smart i beg to differ.
