Might be rescueing a burm...oh boy.

So, I found a guy who bought a baby burm at a reptile show. Not sure which one, but apparently he is keeping it in a TEN gallon tank. And he doesn’t want it anymore because he wants a different pet? Ridiculous, I don’t get people. Anyways. If I do get this poor creature, how long can I keep it in a 75gl tank? 48"L x 24"D x 18"W

To me, 10 gallon tank sounds WAY to small even for a hatchling.
Waiting for him to get back to me, I have NO experience with burms what so ever.
But I feel like I need to get this animal away from him ASAP.

Well I agree, this person doesn’t need this animal and should be getting it into the proper hands. Hope you up for the challenge. I’m sure that as long as you have snake experience and are aware of the care and strenght and size of this species, you should be ok. At least you will be able to know down the road if the animal will be too much to handle and be able to find a proper housing for it. That being said, I wouldn’t keep it in an aquriaum personally. Much harder to maintain temps and humidity. Deff look into a plastic or melimine cage by boamaster, vision, boaphile, animal plastics, ect. You don’t have to go over the top and actually, I have found that babies do better in smaller secure cages vs larger cages with lots of space. That is just my opinion though.

Yeah, the guy e-mailed me back and is like
"Well, I like the snake but I decided to get a pit bull instead"
So he’s sending me pictures of it now. I think I can manage him for awhile, i’ve had enough snake experience. The biggest snake i’ve owned was about 9 feet. But I do agree, i’ve been looking into switching my tanks over and getting cages. It’s just money lately, doesn’t grow on trees. Haha.

There is a guy on craigslist selling a 6 foot vision cage for 200, I was looking into that actually.
