It’s too bad they are killing these animals just for being themselves, but a human can kill and rape other humans and we just put em in a cage and make sure they are comfy for the rest of their life. Don’t make any sense to me.

Id love to slap the happy looks off there faces. Its like ok I just killed this beautiful animal... SMILE!! we are so happy!! I thought the caged hunts on big cats were horrible enough. This makes me ill. I understand you have to do some thing, and killing them is a last resort. But dont stand there and flaunt the fact you murdered it with a huge smile on your stupid face.
I think trophy hunting is a gross waste of life. And thats pretty much what they are doing in FL.

" The capture of this large python shows us how well these snakes can thrive in the wild and create a dangerous situation after illegal release or escape," said commission chairman Rodney Barreto."..
I believe Rod here is saying this because of the pythons size... But who is to say if the animal was this big upon release or escape... who’s to guess at the reason the animal wasn’t "chiped"....
The Everglade problem was caused by us LONG before burms Were introduced...
....
also.. in DETROIT MI.. it is illegal for a person under the age of 16 to walk a pit bull.. i know a MOM who went to jail for letting her 14 year old hold the leash,,,
i think we need to pay close attention to all "FEAR LAWS...
cheers

It’s an invasive species, destroy it.I love reptiles just as much bozo the next guy but our native animals are priority #1.It’s that simple,we introduced them,we should try to eradicate them.

Umm then why werent the American Native Indians priority number one when they were on the verge of being wiped? To pick one species over another.....
Ofcourse we must do something but I there should be a more humane way. Perhaps capture and using humane killing.

That’s a pretty dumb statement, the animal was found on the grounds of a veterinary hospital,i highly doubt they clubbed it to death or anything similar.

no they did not club it to death.. they euthanized it...
and isn’t this our fault??? well.. the people who let them go into the wild... humans are an invasive species also... so should we be killed??
thats a pretty totalitarian way of thinking... I think their has to be a better way...
... its to bad i am to fat and lazy to think of it
cheers

The Florida Python should be left alone. The Widelife officials should happy that we now have pythons living in the wild. Also leave the Florida Monitor alone. It is neat to say we have pythons and monitors living and breeding in the wilds of Florida. Wouldn*t it be nice if we had a growing population of Komodo Dragons also living in Florida. That is my point of view.

yeah,,,,its very neat, when one gets a hold of the highly endangered florida panther, then will it still be as neat?,basically,as been said numerous tiems, the hurricane destroying warehouses let them free, but they wouldnt be here if it wasnt for us,so it should be us to fix the issue.Rehoming them, that many, and normals, wild caught,is simply impossible,i just there was something theyd do witht he hides/meat so it doesnt go to waste

Actually the vet shot it with a shotgun... Certainly not the type of vet Id pay to "save or heal" my pets of any species.

That said I agree with Bobby, Since so many have to be euthanized to bad they cant use a part of them for something

clothing for the homeless, jewelry for the eccentric, and meat for the fast food industry?
we should also do that with child molesters and people who talk in movie theaters..

I think we are just going to have to face the fact that they are here forever now. We cant possibly kill all the burms in florida. Theres way too many. Who cares how they got here. They are already here and theres really nothing we can do except not release any more or not release any more species. I kinda agree that its neat to have pythons in the us. Its alot better than our boring native snakes. All we got is like ratsnakes, garter snakes and watersnakes and stuff like that. Also i cant see nile or water monitors doing too much besides killing bunnies and fish and the occasional kitten or 2. I have monitors and they dont pose a thread to people as long as you give them their space.
