 Lost my Burm!!!

My 11 ft female burm passed away yesterday. We found out that because of the conditions she was in before she came here she had some very serious health problems. Well we had her with our 10 ft male and she got pregnant and the stress from being pregnant killed her. It is bothering me and my wife and we wanted to share with you all our lose because we knew ya’ll would understand. My 6 year old son took it pretty hard too. I wanted to thank all of you because when we first got her ya’ll helped out alot with your suggestions. We tried to get her better. We didn’t mean for her to get pregnant yet we wanted to wait til next season. We put the male with her so we could detail his cage and do our monthly spray to avoid mites being we bring new snakes into our house often. When we went to get him out they were locked up! We figured that it was to early for them to breed but surprise! Anyways. Thank you all for your continued support.

That’s really unfortunate man, sorry to hear that, breeding season for females can be quite stressful.

 Lost my Burm!!!

Thank you all for your support! Its great apprecaited! Just having people to talk to about it helps. Our family thinks we’re nuts for having these large snakes and just don’t understand why we are taking her death very hard. I know we weren’t the cause of her getting sick but we should’ve taken the measures to seperate them, His cage just wasn’t finished yet. So we feel responsible for her death. My wife is taking it pretty hard because she gets really attached to them especially the female even though she got bit by her right after we got her. It was a bad bite too. But after that she was the most docile burm we owned. My wife would take her out and hold her while watching tv or take her to the pet store when she went. She was going to take her to a summer camp this week to show the kids. So shes taking it pretty hard. But again thank you all for your support.
