 Burms and Aggression

I have studied up all on Burms and their nippiness as babies and all that crap but have never found a true answer to a question of mine. When it comes to feeding, I have heard to always feed in cage when dealing with burms and tics. I am worried about cage aggression with feeding in cage and getting mistaken for food. I have always fed out of cage and when this snake goes into food mode, I really don’t want to be "food." Any advice?

Thanks,
ZG

P.S. This will be my first burm, any advice!?

if you look through the forums you will find threads on hook training. just take a few minutes and read through some older threads and you will find many answers. Not trying t be a jerk biut this is a topic that comes up a lot and it gets old answering it so often. If people took the time to just do some reading instead of just asking question they will find many answers and learn a lot more .

 Burms and Aggression

i agree with grunt there is a lot of good information.

hook training from a baby will be good for you especially be inexperienced and not knowing how to predict their reactions. if you feed a burm outside its cage its a good way to get yourself bit and or constricted. i personally have no problems with cage aggression and i believe alf, addicted, grunt or others also have no problems with cage aggression. as long as you have good interaction with your burm. if the only time you open the cage is to feed it, that could lead to problems, just make sure you get some handling in, water changes ect. the hook training is great cause you just touch them let them know your there and then can take them out, soon they know when they see the hook its not feeding time, on feeding days never let the hook be seen by the snake dont even get it out.

good luck.

i dont know about you guys but i give my burm a good 4 days to digest and poop ect. before i start handling again.
