My 9ft Demon but she is hissing at me and dont want me to handle her :(

i got her about 2-3 weeks ago and she wont let me handle her cause she is hissing and puffing and looks like she wants to bite me . my other 5 ft ball python never did that when i got her.what do i need to do so i can take her out of her cage and handle her , any advice would be great thanks!!!
OHH i dont know how to post the pictures here if any1 can tell me how am i gonna put my pictures from my d.camera here that would be awsome amd i ll post my pictures , thanks

I live out in Rhode Island, but work in Marlborough. I figured that if it were on my route home that I could maybe give you a hand till you were more comfortable with handling. You should get a snake hook and gently tap her on the head to let her know that your in there to handle her and that it’s not time to eat for starters, and just be patient. Lots of interaction with her should calm her down over time.

i use cypress mulch for my burm and it works great, when i first brought her home, she was very hissy and puffy.

you just gotta go for it, she has never acted on it, now she is a little sweetheart although she does have her moments.

thanks for offering help shawn and i would like that but only thing is i am working on saturday and sunday i am off mon,tues and thursdays :( and i need some advice for the both cages i have my ball python doesnr seem to like his hiding place and wont go in hehe and i might need the cage the cage of my burms cage but i dunno where to get a little cheap cage tho i like alf`s cage and your cages too

hey wolv hey i have a 8 ft male burm myself and as long as ive had him he hisses and puffs up at me every time i go to get him out of his cage but once i pick him up he is a sweetheart and i have heard from a lot of people that there burms are the same way .

Do berms have a tendancy to be mean? Because I got my first berm saturday and I’m in love with the girl. Shes just as sweet, if not sweeter then my ball python, and I can’t imagin her to be mean. I’ve handled her everyday, in hopes she wont get mean with age. Sometimes she’ll hiss at me when I open her cage, but she doesn’t go into an aggressive stance at all. I just take her out and she’s good to go, she loves to be out. She’s a curious little girl. :]
