 Heating Pad

Is it good to use a heating pad. I was thinking of using sand as bedding so the pads heat could heat up the tank.Does the heating pad go under the tank or under the bedding? I heard that at night you should use a lower wattage bulb that is red or blue. Is that true?
Is a twenty gallon tank okay? Or is it to small for a black lined plated lizard?

I appreciate your help

idk about a heating pad. i think it would be okay if you put it on medium or low.goes under the tank. sand isn’t the best substrate, especially if accidentaly eaten and could cause impaction and could get really hot with the heating pad and the heating lamp/light. remember to put the substrate like 7 inches deep.plated lizards love to dig. 20 gallon is too small. get a 50 gallon AT LEAST but the bigger the better. i don’t put any ight on at night, as long as the cage gets about 75 degrees.

Well, I was told that they don’t need anything bigger than a ten gallon tank. I might go with 40-45 gallon.
I just don’t have the space for anything bigger

well yeah a 40 gallon is actually the minimum i just wanted it to be a bit happier if you were willing to get a 60 gallon. so it seems good spacewise for you to get a 40 gallon. wow, a 1 1/2 foot lizard in a ten gallon?where did you hear that from?

read this below-very important
