 A good use for Calci-Sand.....

It’s no secret most herpers hate the stuff because it poses a fairly large impaction risk. Lots of folks are stuck with bags of the junk after they learn it’s not a good substrate choice.

But it’s excellent to mix with potting soil to grow greens for your herps. Even if your guy is a pure carnivore/insectivore a windowsill dandelion garden is a good source of calcium-rich gutload to feed to your feeders. The extra boost of calcium from the sand makes for really nutritious plants.
