Cactus suitable for a uromastyx Mali habitat

I am wanting to put cactus in my Uri habitat I currently have calcium sand and an area blocked off with seed for feeding. I have been reading that in the wild they will eat catus flowers but I have not been able to locate what types to use in a habitat. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Don’t use cactuas, but succulents. Cacti provide problems when it comes to their spines.

Agreed, succulents can brighten up an enclosure considerably. Another thing to remember with cactus flowers is that I’m sure there are only certain species of cacti who’s flowers would be consumed. There are also many cacti that only take a few hours to bloom and the flower dies.

Don’t risk putting plants in, as it can raise humidity (you have to water the plant) and eventually kill the uro, also don’t use calci-sand its can easily kill them if they ingest too much... for more info go to the uromastyx forums...
