The main thing to remember is that MHD’s are arboreal. They prefer to climb and be up. Traditional fish tanks aren’t going to work for these guys. Special built or cages for chameleons are the route you need to go. Our cage is 4’x4’x2’ There are live climbing plants, a water fountain and various lighting sources, one side has a light the other side has no light and stays darker most of the day. A 3 foot 2.0 uvb bulb goes from side to side with leaves and other items in there to block this out when they don’t want to be in the light. The smallest ones you will come across in pet stores are Lepidogasters, they are mean, pissy little lizards who bite first and let go later.
