Water monitor burrowed for long periods of time

Hello I have an asian water monitor and I was wondering how long should they be burrowed for? Mine has been burrowed for about two days now. I am starting to get worried because before she did this she was enjoying her cage and walking around. She always eats when food is presented as well. Temperature range from 70-85 on the cooler side, and 108 at the basking spot and in her burrows the temps are usually around 78.

My adult stayed burrowed for a long time when he was young but if you’re worried just check on him.

Alright thank you we found her I think I gave her to much room for how young she is.

Monitors will do this for numerous reasons the most common is the animal being stressed or temperature is not being correct. Also you can never have too much room for a monitor regardless of the size it’s better to have too much rather than too little

Alright I knew they could do it due to stress but I can hand feed her so I did not really think that was the reason. We also gave her a giant cage with around 2000 pound of dirt and sand combined. Is that to much?

Lol that’s a lot of dirt my burrowing reptiles get 2-3 feet of substrate but I’m unsure how much that weights but I’m pretty sure you have more than I do
