 Tong Feeding

I’ve been trying to get my argus hatchling to accept food off the tongs, but she just attacks it and happens to get the food into her mouth. I’ve seen people tong feed argus monitors the same size with ease. How to get said monitor use to the tongs and not have her swallow my finger? She sees the tongs as a predator and tail whips them or bites then stands up tall. I managed to feed her 8 items by aiming the food as she struck out at the tongs and she seemed to eat the worm without hesitation.

Just put them somewhere near her cage where she can see them, or inside her cage and let her get used to them being there. Once she realizes there not gonna attack her things should settle down
