 Bitten by adult mouse

this mite be a dumb question so any jokes are welcomed, but i was just bitten by a pet store bought adult mouse (feeder) and it drew blood. i washed it out with dishsoap. can they carry diseases or am i ok?

actually mice carry more diseases at ONE TIME than any other living organism on the planet. and most of the deseases are deseases that can be bassed to humans. since its pet store bought i wouldnt think to much of it. but its allways a good thing to take the proper procedures to ensure your health

You can buy pre-killed, frozen mice. They are cheaper than pet store live ones by a lot and you don’t have to worry about being but or Monitor either.

I buy frozen rodents only. Wouldn’t risk feeding any of my monitors large live rodents.
Commercially bred mice have been bred for thousands of generations in captivity. There is no way they’ll pass a disease worth worrying about through a bite.
Worry more about a bite from your Niloticus, yikes!

ok thank guys. i just found a website thats WAY cheaper. everything from pinkies to chicks to guinea pigs (feeders). frozen. how do u thaw them? dont they stink up the place i’d think?

i just wrap them in paper towel and sit them on the counter to thaw.. and no they dont really smell... unless you leave it out for a long long time

I ziplock mine then run them under warm water for a few minutes if I forget to unthaw them overnight.
