This is my savannah enclosure. 8x4x4.5 with a little over 2 feet of soil for substrate. Cost a lil over 400 dollars and three evenings to build with an extra hand on 2 nights.

Savannahmonitorlover, may consider adding places for the lizard to hide away from you and feel secure when you get on that new enclosure you’re building. A gecko hide isn’t going to cut it. Get some full wooden logs and bury them in the substrate and maybe add a flat rock and a platform to bask on and go under.

I have a flat rock on the left side to bask on and burrow under I also have that rovk thing that clams on to the side and the other half is magnitized to it also that big half log she burrowed all under it. I also just added another rock to bask on and a pretty big water dish for her for now is that ok ? Not being mean I really want ur input. Also I would get logs but how would I make them safe to put in there I dont want bactetia and such on them. The cage I am building is done I just need to add a slidding window and hook everything up.

i just grab logs and dirt from the great out doors, i also find drift wood works well, so if your near a lake look around there.. dont worry about bacteria, .. just make sure you get it away from pesticides or other harmful chemicals

You should be able to find cork bark tubes (logs) that you can throw in. You can bury some, you can stack them, or you can even attach them to the walls of the enclosure to make use of wall space.

Yeah, either the woods, beach, some lakesides.

Not sure where you live, but in my neighborhoods there are always branches left in the street to be picked up on street cleaning days. People have their trees trimmed and leave the branches out in the street to be picked up. I just drive through neighborhoods and load up any good branches that can be used.. and its free.
