Popping a monitor Has anyone ever "popped" a monitor?
Local pet shop says he knows someone who does it all the time. I have done it too young snakes but between the ackies being some flighty and never doing it before, I am reluctant to try it.
Has anyone ever done it?

Popping a monitor It can cause damage to soft tissue, vertebrae, musculature of the pelvis and tail base. Popping is not recommended for any reptiles.

Popping a monitor Don’t do it. Babies have "little pink tubes" whether male or female and the genitals DEVELOP as they hit lizard "puberty" (can be 6 months of age to 2 years of age). You can illuminate the tails for presence of cartilaginous hemibacula and blood gorged tissues in some species at some point - it seems it works better on larger animals or older juveniles though....not newborns. But taking a baby and attempting to squeeze it’s organs out of a very muscular and strong tail is risking damage. If you have an adult monitor picked out, just share a photograph here and we may be able to sex it visually anyhow.

Popping a monitor I always heard that trying to pop a monitor could result in a broken pelvis....hence why when I heard this I was more than skeptical.
