Thanks Steve,
This is the only thing I like about this time of year. Not looking forward to the snow! hahaha! Just so that everyone knows, I did nothing to these leaves. I just raked them up, stuffed them in a trash bag, and dumped them in the encloser. Ezra never seems to mind sharing space with little rolly pollys or anything else. I dont mind either as long as nothing bites me while spreading the stuff around. LOL!

Yep agreed that is all i do when collecting my leaf litter (as long as no pesticides used near them)
they just go in as you described BUT i managed to collect around 15 huge wasps hidden in mine that came to life with the heat in the vivs LOL

The leaves are allready dead. I just remove them at some point. I like them cause they help keep the humidity in balance. I have to spray my encloser down when winter sets in. It is not tight enough to help hold in the humidity with the woodstove going. We have a very dry house during winter months. The leaves help alot.

Usually when you introduce leaves, you usually get cargo that comes with it. They tiny bugs break down the leaf litter into soil, so adding more once they’ve broken down a lot would be your next move.

If they are directly under the basking spot and your surface temps have to be pretty up there. I beleive surface temps higher then 170 might catch leaves on fire.

First let me say Ezra looks very content with all the leaves to play in. However I am sitting here looking at all these posts with leaves, while it is 90 outside and I have zero leaves to put into my cages. I am thinking about going out and just shaking my tree to see if some will fall.

LOL. Same here, Jody. It’s still high-80’s and low-90’s by me and leaves just stay on the trees unless you chop them off.

I will miss the warm temps, but I would also miss the change in seasons. I need to win powerball so I can have the best of all worlds! LOL.
