 Hey guys

Place a bowl burried a bit into the bedding. Add a peice of carrot or something at the bottom to really attract them.

 Hey guys

Oh you bet the monitor will mess it up someway. Track dirt, tip it over.

If you provide a bowl with a slick surface they are less likely to crawl out. Crock bowls work great, they are kind of on the heavier side too. This method isn’t 100% solid, but will help you get rid of a bunch of unwanted baby crickets.

 Hey guys

The bowl trick will help get rid of a lot of them at night. You can also just place a jar lid of food for the crickets in the cage to feed them and not have them picking at the lizard at night - the risk of crickets in big numbers in a cage with young monitors/lizards.

 Hey guys

I would leave some food in there for the crickets and do the bowls trick. Recently I have found that the crickets have been chewing a whole in my monitors neck. Though he cut him self on a rock so I took em out. It scabbed up and started to look better, then it got bigger. I have to take out all of his things and go through the cage, to get out all the crickets.

 Hey guys

I’ve found this a problem as well with my Beardies, just keep plenty of food for the crickets and they won’t be hungry for your lizard. As long as you keep the baby crickets in his tank and out of your house. A lot of people struggle to breed crickets, but hey, you did so I would say hey more free food. Just feed em’ and they won’t eat him. I have noticed my Sav chasing the baby crickets that hatched in his cage as well. Give them 4-5 weeks and they will be full grown and then once they reach that size, depending on how big he is, they won’t last long. One of my Sav’s, when he was about 18" long was eating maybe 50-60 adult crickets a day.

Depending on how many there are in his tank, he could probably easily clear them out in a week or two once they are full grown. Unless you really have to have them out it’s free food. I guess if that’s the case you could do the bowl idea, I’ve never had a problem with leaving crickets in my Reptiles cages (except for my Leo’s since they have extremely fragile skin) but whatever, I’m sure you’ll figure something out. :-)

 Hey guys

I have had baby crix appear in my Tarantula enclosures but they just die off. I wouldn’t be over concerned with them but if there bugging you chuck out the substrate and do a refill.

 Hey guys

Lol. The only other method I’ve used, other than the bowl or letting them die off, is a piece of egg carton by whatever the crickets are hiding under. It works but takes forever. Cody’s right as well if you put something in there for them to munch on they will be less inclined to chew on your lizard, although the chance is still there.
