It’s best to keep young Ackies in smaller enclosures at first. Helps them find their food and easier to keep the humidity high. Younguns will dehydrate quickly because of their low body mass. Also easier for you to keep an eye on him.

actually 1 ackie should have a bigger cage 4x2x3 is minimum cause to time the size of the lizard for legth and they get to feet long so that atleast 4 fott on lenght for the cage the 3 feet for hight so you can have that 1 of dirt and still 2 foot of hight in the cage. but ya dont listen to me i dont no anyt thing about ackies cause its the only type of monitor that i keep and iv kepp them for about 2 and a half years now so ya i no nothing dont listen to the cage sheet here a 3x2x2 is to small and so is a 4x2x2 man im getting sick of people like you here you think you know every thing why ask the question if your gonna disagree

The cage size is fine if you keep the temperature gradient appropriate and the humidity correct for a little 5" baby. The problem is the gradient in small cages - it’s hard to attain.

Mxracer, your posts are painful to read.

Your cage is fine for a small Ackie. I use 10 gallon tanks as raise up cages for certain dwarfs. As Krusty points out, a good heat gradient is key.
