A cage built for moving Hello, I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to build a cage that you can take apart easily for moving. I’m trying to piece together a 8x4x4 for my savannah but I rent the house I’m staying at and I don’t know how long I’ll be staying there. Unforunatly, I’ve never built anything before. I’ve been pming random people and checking all the enclosures posted on this site, any and all help would be appreciated with this.

A cage built for moving I built my Nile enclosure and carried it into the house and assemblied it.. 11 different pieces. 8x4x4 would be easy since osb or plywood is that size. Make your bottom, 2 sides, 2 ends. and top and then screw or bolt them together for easy disassemble. Cover or waterproof the bottom and sides before you put it together and chalk all joints after assembly. Cut out in front panel a simple opening which can be hinged for easy access. Use plexiglass as the window. A good cage can be simple and inexpensive. All you need are a few 2x4s, OSB, screws, chaulk, and waterproof material such as FDR board or vinyl floor covering. Alll it has to do is hold dirt, humidity, warmth and not leak . Find the Post "How to Cages" -good pictures
Im sure now you really are confused

A cage built for moving Haha, yeah, i’ve been browsing the "How to Cages" and a couple other threads here. It’s great stuff to look at but a bit overwhelming at times. It’s interesting to see all the different ideas. Like, I’ll see something and think, "man, a sliding window! I never thought about that!" I wasn’t sure if there was any specific method to making cages you could disassemble since most of the pictures in that how to thread look like they’d be hell to think about moving.
Hopefully this Saturday I can get started on this and maybe I’ll be able to post pictures of my own :)
Well, if I manage to get ahold of a camera....

A cage built for moving yeah just assemble it that way as mentioned and when its time for you to leave, just go backwards as you assembled it and just use a shop vac and some buckets and shovels for the dirt. lol.
Now im not an expert at building but so you dont have to worry about screwing together then un screwing the screwing back together and not having to worry about going to different holes each time maybe you should put some anchors in when you screw into the osb and that will help hold together probably.
