#1835586 Bsm View Profile	Omg such crap when i was comming home today i stopped at the pet store because i didnt feel like defrosting some mice and when i walked to the back i saw an adult male argus around 4ft in a 6ftL by 4 ft W by 2ft H cage with no dirt and no basking spot or hidding spots and guess what they had housed with it. They had a fing ornate monitor around 3.5 feet in the same cage. A couple years ago before their store burned down they use to have all the animals in proper cages but now almost every reptile is in the wrong conditions. heres some examples of there current cages? they have an iguana with a col tegu in the same sized cage as the argus/ornate all the savannahs are in 10 g tanks and look like crap 3 timor monitors in a 3 ft L by 2ft W by 1ft tank and the monitors are all around 2ft they have 2 species of boas in a 50 g tank (red tail, dumerials) have corns, milk and king snakes in same cage (wonder who will disappear first milk or corn they are smaller) 5 adult yellow fotted tortoises in a 4ft L by 3 ft w 2H cage and alot more every single animal they have they are in wost possible condition which brings tears to my eyes :( this is why kids or adults that know nothing about an particular animal will go into a pet store and see the cages they have these 4 ft lizards in and say that looks essay enough and then the people who work there gives them some more retarded advice on housing and feeding. it really shows that some people have no respect for animals only money, if it was dogs or cats there would be police there any day. I’m going back to the store on wed. before work to talk to the owner that i know and im going to see will he change the cages. if he doesn’t i will tell him to give away the animals to someone who will or ill report the store to the aspca. i knew the owner for over 10 years and i will still report him i dont care its not about him its the animals

One reptile store by me has an argus thats 3 feet in a 5x2x4 cage and he has a flavi with it. He also has a 3 foot savannah in 3 x2x2 cage with sand. All there reptiles for sale are in a 1 foot cube cage. That includes a boa , and adult corns and kingsnakes. The other place near me is great. They have an iguana in an 8x8x6 cage and a savannah monitor in a 10x4x4 cage. They actually tell people about the animals they are about to purchase and see how there cage is set up and they dont try to make someone buy something to get a sale. They take in reptiles only and if ones sick or something they wont sell it until its better and checked by a vet. They give me cheaper food for my reptiles because i go there alot. 3 dozen crix for 1 dollar. One place needs to be reported its not even big enough to properly house anything they even had like 3 different species together in every cage. The other is great. too bad more stores arent like that.
