Im asking you, but anyone else feel free to respond.
Im a few hours north of you on the east coast. My thoughts on building my BT enclosure were to build it in my Florida room/sun room. One with vinyl windows all around. The light comes in on the east, but no bright sunlight after 12. I also have a turtle pond in there and the turtles often bask in the morning sun.
Humidity stays just damper than outside on its own and ambient temp is simular to outside, but doesnt get the afternoon heat to hot as sun is on other side of house.
Is there anything, Im not thinking of as to why my BT’s enclosure shouldnt be there?

In the winter it stays warmer than outside as well and I was thinking of getting a pig heater if we were to have a rough winter, and of course increase basking lights to keep basking temp at 130.
Turtles stayed in there last winter and I only had to run their water heater for about 2 weeks.

NOOOOOO I want to keep turtles, sorry If I sounded that way. (Although he may end up with their eggs next spring)

I want to build an enclosure, opposite of turtle pond, in my patio style Florida room, which is almost outside... and didnt know if there was something I wasnt thinking of as to why that wasnt a good idea. I just mentioned the turtles as a basis for knowing the ambient temps, even though he will obviously have higher temperatures

I really think it will be ok. The enclosure in the garage, just seem too confined, and I had to run fans to keep ambient temps below 90, and the natural sunlight (not direct) cant hurt.

Banshee, yes the sliders should lay eggs in spring. 1 did last year, another will be old enough and big enough. Its illegal here to allow them to hatch (because they are an invasive species)

So long as you have a divider to keep him away from cold temperatures (below 60*F), I think it could work. I’ve not tried leaving a monitor out in a lanai/florida room in the cool months though.
