 Ok now B and w tegu or sav

OK well since everyone on here can be so nice and to the point which do you all prefer a black and white tegu or a sav i know about taking care of them have had a sav before and just about every kind of animal there is just wondering what experienced tegu owners think are the biggest diffs between savs and tegus.

i’d say b and w tegu over the sav. they are a little more hardy/easier to take care of i find.

he passed away of old age and what makes it worse is i just took him to the vet a couple weeks ago for a check up

I personally prefer Monitors over Tegu’s, from my experience Monitors are far smarter animals then Tegus. I have been bitten numerous times by my Tegus during feeding and not once with my monitors. I can’t understand how they think my fingers (12 inches from the mouse that is on tongs) are food, haha. I would go with a Sav personally they are fascinating to keep and observe.

So he died recently...just making sure its not one of those "I killed my sav by not properly caring for it and I want another one" type thing you know? So you want another sav or a b/w tegu...well a tegu would be cool to try something new I guess.

no i understand i rescued him from some lady who fed him hot dogs and ground turkey as his staple diet and kept him in a 55 gallon tank with a water bowl big enough for an anole. I have an 8 x 4 x 4 cage that he was in.

not real sure but he had been very poorly taken care of and was definitely full grown when i got him about 6 months ago.
