I thought i saw one somewhere for around 5000 when i was looking for monitors somewhere the place had super tiger retics for 150 as well so it might be a good deal for the lace

You’ll be lucky to find any lace monitors in the United States.

The only person I know of that breeds them is John. He posts as 3240 on here.

I need to ask my friend if he still has them. He moved to washington because his dad is in the airforce. he bought it from some country he lived in before he moved here. He lived in germany and austerlia and somewhere near africa so im not too sure if he got them in the us or what. ill have to check

he said it isnt a bell phrase its a regular/bell baby. He said he got it from a guy in east austrelia a few years back. Its not as dark but shows very light traces of the lines in a few places on its body. To get one you either have to live in austrelia or have someone illegally get one out for you

What’s a regular/bell? It has to be one or the other.

The military use their privileges to smuggle animals, once again. What’s more, someone in Australia illegally sold an animal to an unlicensed foreigner.

Were pretty sure that one parent is a normal and the other a bell. It may also be a full bell tho because it has the stripes but its lighter than most bells we seen. Were not too sure. Its been since last october since i have seen it because he moved. Im trying to get him to send pics of it to me and ill post them if he sends me them

There are no half bells or half normals, it’s either one or the other, no matter what its parents were. If it has stripes, it’s a normal. If it has bands, it’s a Bell’s. Not easy to confuse the two when you see them.

he had a bell then the bands werent pure white they were kinda light grey. i thought for a pure bell they had to be pure white. The monitor itself is lighter as well thanks for the pics

It isn’t showing up well in that photo, but it’s a creamy yellow, not white. It’s not the colour that determines whether or not it’s a Bell’s, but the patterning - the broad bands of black and yellow/cream/white vs the narrow bands of black and yellow/cream/white.

like i said im waiting for an email from him. He lives in southern washington somewhere i havent been to his new house. Its a 18 hour drive for me so i probally wont be going soon. If he sends me pics ill post them. He hasnt lived by me for 3 years i have only talked on the phone and e mail. for all i know its dead or sold. Im waiting for the e mail to find out and get pics

I’m with John - I’m calling your bluff. I say there is no lace monitor at your mate’s place, bells or normal, and that there’ll be numerous mysterious reasons for the photos never showing up. No camera, camera broken, lost his camera etc etc.

Seriously, if you had a lizard that died and someone sent you an email asking what size enclosure it was in, you’d reply "I no longer have that lizard".

You wouldn’t say "oh, it’s in a 12 x 8 x 6" and then wait for another email asking you, on the off chance, whether or not it was still alive.

I just asked him what size his monitors cage was. I emailed him later to see if he still had it. I just got an email from him tonight and he said that he had actually sold it to his dads friend that was in the military in feburary and used some of the money he got for a car and kept a little for a flavi pair. i would guess that the monitor will either die or the guy will sell it when he moves. I really dont know nor care too much on his monitor for being a banded lace monitor. i have only saw it like twice when he lived around here because we were at my house most of the time. I dont get why so many people seem to care about this morph. I would love to have one but i dont feel like spending $500 or more on any reptile. I will do that over time but at one time no way unless im building a cage or something

$500 or more for a bell? Try $15k or more if one became available here. Add another $25k for legal fees (smuggled animal) and your talking about a $40k monitor.

However, this is a silly discussion as they’re not available outside of Aussie. Except for the one owned by the first cousin of my wife’s second cousin’s best friend’s step dad. I’ll post pics later.
