My BT isnt eating Your temps need to be higher. A water bowl has noting to do with humidity.

My BT isnt eating I didn’t know if mine was a male or female before, because she was found and given to me. So I just kind of called it a he and didn’t think much about it. Then recently he started not eating and getting really skinny but his stomach was big & i thought he was having metabolism problems but it turned out she was laying eggs. I don’t know how mature yours is though

My BT isnt eating so, Juice, have you raised the basking temperature, yet? Post a photo of the enclosure and people here will be able to sort out your problem.

My BT isnt eating You have to download pictures onto a photo server then copy and paste them from there to this site.
I would try getting that temperature up to 130-140 if I were you.

My BT isnt eating Don’t take his hide away for one. And by "his hide" are you saying he has only one? He should have multiple hides throughout the temperature gradients of the cage, not just one. If you take his (i’m assuming) one and only safe place(hide) away from him you are just gonna stress him out by making him stay in full view. Chill out, raise his basking spot temp ensure that the soil is moist below the surface and dry on top. maybe get some leaf litter and throw a crapload into the cage. that in itself shall add possible hiding places for him. your cage should be quite a bit bigger than what you have. Do you realize you are gonna want a cage that will be 8 - 10 feet long at least 4 feet tall and about 4 feet wide? He should have 1-2 feet of dirt to dig in and whatnot, really there are a bunch of things that should be improved. those are some odd dimensions for a cage, is it an aquarium? or did you just buy the oddest length wood you could find?

My BT isnt eating So we all understand this correctly, how often are you feeding him? Does he eat insects?
Mine is eating crickets and worms daily but mice only 2 to 3 times a week as that is what Proexotics recommended. I usually only give him 2 large mice or 2- 2week old rat pups each rodent feeding.
and he’s growing well 5 to 6 inches per month

My BT isnt eating They never ever outgrow insects, and if your husbandry was correct he could be eating everyday a mixed diet of rodents, birds, and insects. My albig easily eats around 50 crickets, and between 5-7 small mice a night. Something is not right with your enclosure, post pictures so we can help you out.
As for the the insect thing when your albig does outgrows crickets, move to roaches. There are a few people who can help you out with that.

My BT isnt eating What are the temperatures in the cage? With the light that far away from the basking surface you would have to have a pretty high wattage light to achieve the proper basking temperature., which in turn would tend to heat the whole cage rather than a small area the size of the lizard. I don’t see how you could have much of a temperature gradient (range) in that cage. I would have a low wattage bulb, maybe two, side by side hanging over that log. A basking surface should hold and store heat.
There seems to be enough room in that cage for some logs and thick branches for climbing. If the monitor has access to areas higher in the cage as well as the ground, it will provide it with more choices as far as temperatures.
That dirt looks pretty dry. Ditch the fan, as it will dry the cage out too fast.

My BT isnt eating I have two BTs and they both enjoy climbing and pushing stuff around and digging. While your cage looks basically good as far as size goes, it’s too sparse for a monitor that likes to climb trees as well as dig burrows. Fake plants and a few branches, will add some privacy and things of interest for him. Maybe if he starts to feel secure and interested in his environment, he will start to hunt down roaches or crickets. If he won’t eat frozen mice, you may have to try live prey, just to get him started.
One of my bt’s has been very hard to encourage to eat from day one, but you just have to keep trying to improve his conditions. How active is he?
