I HAVE A HALOGEN 45 WATT BULB THAT WAS RECOMMEND TO ME BUT I NEED TO KNOW IS IT HOT ENOUGTH FOR MY JUVI SAV ITS 9 INCHES AWAY FROM THE BASKING SPOT.HERES A PIC OF THE BOX AND BULB.

i understand I’m going to keep asking her and hopefully she agree but for now is it OK my thermometer in the cage is only reading 91 degrees and that’s worrying me.my sav is eating and pooping fine but in the long run i just want her to be healthy and Happy.

91 degree’s in what?the surface of the basking spot? if you really want people here to help post pics of your monitor and its enclosure then you will get some good advice

well i have a stick on thermometer and it says 91 degrees but he basking spot idk but from info i was told that a 45 watt halogen flood ligth was an excellent choice.

Stick on thermometers (or any thermometers for that matter) read surface temps., only ambient temps. I have a 92 degree ambient temp on my basking area as well, and the surface temp is around 127. The 45 watt halogen is an excellent choice.

Don’t go by the ambient temp. as an indicator for what the surface temps are. You could very well be to hot or not hot enough. You won’t know that unless you get the proper tools to read it. If your mom won’t order off the net then go to radio shack or a hobby store. They also sell temp guns.
