 CAIMAN LIZARD

Its not called a caiman monitor so you shouldnt be asking here, But from what I know they are extremely expencive and very few people have them. Try searching on google I’m sure you will get better results than asking here.

Steven.

 CAIMAN LIZARD

They’re for very experienced keepers only. Avoid this species unless you have the knowledge to care for them properly.

 CAIMAN LIZARD

Not to mention a huge amount of space and a large body of fresh water.

 Funny story

My wife saw a picture of one in Reptiles magazine and told me I needed to get a pair. I laughed and told her to find me a pair at a good price and I would get them. I know they are hard to find and very expensive. A week or so later she saw the one in the KS classified with the high price of $1800. She finally realized why I laughed when she told me to get some.

They are very interesting looking reptiles.

I think I know of the ad you are speaking of.

Sadly, it has been raised on catfood. Shame.

 Funny story

I saw them feeding some caiman lizards at the San Diego Zoo with a substance that looked like cat food as well. Maybe that works for them?

 Funny story

Caiman lizards are specialized snail eaters, unless you have a large supply of snails big enough for a 4 ft. lizard to eat(with some other bugs and a mouse thrown in ever once in a while) a HUGE cage with a HUGE pond in that cage a ton of experience with keeping large lizards, and a vast knowledge of the species, A TON OF MONEY, I wouldn’t recommend them at the slightest.

(not my lizard)
