 Halogen bulb.....100 or 150 watt

more new sav questions lol...sorry....but im debating on getting a halogen bulb, but i dont know if i should get a 100 watt or a 150 watt, what do ya’ll suggest???

your friend’s lizard is going to burn!!!! use a 45-60watt!!!!!
And yes, there is a difference, 100-150watt will get waaaay to high and burn your lizard costing you you a vet visit that will cost alot o’ this $$$.

does it matter if the bulb is like 60 watts and the lamp 100 or vise versa???....or would the bulb burn with one of um....

60 watts should be just fine and yes the bulb will work in any socket.

Buy different wattage lights and try each one to see what works best in your situation. I have had enclosures where 100 watt lights were needed to heat a 7 foot tall enclosure, and some where I use 50 watt.

The wattage of bulb is not really the issue, you want to use the lowest wattage bulb you can to produce the basking surface temp you require (usually between 120-150 deg)

Statements like this are a bit foolish. There is nothing wrong with using a 150w lamp as long as it is used in the correct way. I use a 250w CHE in my albig enclosure to provide enough background heat (the enclosure is 12x8x5) does this mean my monitors are going to get burnt? It all about how you use these things.

Yes, but your lizard is in a 12x8x5. The smaller the cage the smaller the wattage, and yes it was quite foolish of me to assume that Froeni had a small enclosre. which reminds me, how big is your enclosre Froeni?

Your looking at this the wrong way. Wattage is not as important as the end result. It is the temps your after not what wattage bulb to use. The anbswer to that is whatever wattage you can get away with to achieve the end result temps. Which is a gradient throughout the cage 70-90 (furthest to closest to the light a.k.a heat source), basking surface temps 110-120 for babies 130-150 for adults. You may also find you need to use a bank of lights. For larger monitors you may use 3-4 45 watt bulbs to get a large enough basking area. I use 45-65 watt bulbs no matter the cage size, I have never needed to use higher wattages.
