 Fiddler crabs

i am planning on getting fiddler crabs and i need some info about them but idk if i am on the right forum.

They’re technically crustaceans, not molluscs. If you do a quick google search you’ll get a lot of info. Basically they live in brackish water, need a substrate they can burrow into (sand or fine gravel), hiding places, and will eat pretty much anything you give them. The males get territorial, so it’s risky to try more than one of them, but if the tank’s big enough it’s usually doable.

ok, and the tank size is 29 gallons, i dont have anything smaller but it will work, and i only no a few things about them

29 gallons is actually a really good size, you could probably get a male and a couple of females in there comfortably. They’re really not hard to take care of, pretty much just what I said in my first post, and as long as the temps stay around room temp they should be fine.

The most I would do is two males, and maybe three females...just make sure you provide a couple of different hiding places for them so they’re not always in view of each other. I’ve had two males kept successfully together, they were usually good, but sometimes got into a scuffle if one got too close.

And yeah a regular tank works fine for brackish water.
