 Little snails.

I went to a local pond, to get tadpoles, and when I got back there where some snails in the bucket I had the tadpoles in, so I put the in the tank. Is this okay? Will they just eat the "slime coat", or whatever is on the side of the tank? They are about 2-8 mm long. Should I keep them in? If I can keep them, do I have to put in any extra food?

 Little snails.

They’ll eat anything, so at least they’ll keep you’re tank clean. After a while they’ll probably overrun the tank though, they can reproduce like crazy. You really don’t need to feed them anything special, they’ll take leftover waste. Also, they can carry parasites, but since the tadpoles were from the same pond you probably have nothing to worry about, they likely built up resistance to that already...just don’t add anything store-bought.
