 Meet my milk snake

I know very little about him/her, except that he/she is beautiful.

And that she’s a lush, apparently... A whole bottle to herself!

I guess "prone to alcoholism" should be added to milksnake care sheets.

I can say with 99% confidence that the snake pictured is a mexican milk snake. Yes, I know, lots of milk snakes are FROM mexico, but what I mean is, the particular subspecies is ’annulata’. The very rich red, the light colored nose, followed by black, light, and then black again on the neck is the give away signs.

They can be found north of the border in southern Texas. Nice lookin’ snake you got there.

Well blah blah. Doesn’t really matter all that much. We’re talking ssp. anyway. Many are not all that different, and will readily cross in captivity. Even in the wild, there are some individuals that have some features of two ssp or otherwise do not fit neatly to the description. I just wanted to point out that there’s no way that snake could be mistaken for a honduran.
