 Black and White Milk Snake?

Well, I wanted a Tri-Coloured Milk Snake, but it was sold. So I now have my eye on a bold Black and White banded one. I was just wondering if it was a Milk Snake. Thanks!

A California King snake to me, but I’m not an expert . . . an anerythristic milk snake? I suppose it possible; anyone else? Regular black milk snakes are tri-colored when they’re younger . . .

I don’t think there are any pure black & white milksnakes. An anerythristic milksnake would not be black & white only. It also gets grayish or pinkish banding. Search for anery Honduran milksnakes on the net and you’ll se what I mean.

Hmm, I searched up California KingSnake, but there’s too little white in it... Maybe they loose a bit of the white in age?

Not Sure About Losing the White . . .

How about this one?

The band on that one are considerably narrower than on this one . . .

I suppose, though, now that I think about, an Eastern King Snake (a different subspecies than the California King) is a possiblity . . .

And thanks for that information on what an anerythristic milk snake would look like... Seeing a picture helped my see the wrong direction I took with my thinking . . .

Good luck. Any chance of getting a picture? Be a nice snake to own, regardless, as long as it has an appetite.

California kingsnakes comes in dozens of different color combinations. A pure 50/50 deser phase has as much white as it has black, and there are a few morphs with more white than black too.

Here’s a pic of my 50/50 desert cali male
