Black Milk Snake I don’t know how old he is. We’ve only had him since Dec. 08’. When we bought him from a local exotic pet store he had only been there one day. (We went in there to buy a mouse to feed my Dwarf Caiman when my wife saw him and fell in love with him, so we had to buy him). The manager of the store didn’t know his history but assured me that the seller was a reputable guy. If you look closely at the second photo you will see some scarring on his back. He has obviously been injured or possible attacked by something but has healed up. He is the sweetest, most gental snake I’ve had. He loves to be out and doesn’t mind being held at all.

Black Milk Snake I agree, very nice display you have. When I first started out, I decorated the cages nice. I still have a few set up like that, but now they are mostly racks with aspen in them. So much easier when you’re scooping poop out of 120+ cages. :-)
Side note to alligater...my black milk (Irene) turned out to be a male. Drives me nuts when you buy a pair and they aren’t properly sexed. (We’ve learned NEVER to trust anyone to sex them and now we always double check) Anyway, we sold the other male adult we had and bought a pair of ’08 ’s. I kept Irene though (now named Irving) because he’s so awesome.

Black Milk Snake
I just went to a reptile expo this past weekend in Ft Lauderdale and I had the pleasure to hold one of these natural treasures and now I really do have a appreciation for milksnakes. I own a Florida KingSnake and now I want to get 2 Milks,a Apricot Pueblan and a Black. I’m amazed at them when they’re young and when they get 6-10months they change. They look sooo identical to a Eastern Indigo so I want to get one of those since I can’t own a Indigo in FL. Great looking snake and wouldn’t a 55 gallon house them?
BTW Guys,if you live in S.Florida, the next show will be 6/21 @ Rodeway Inn Suites on S.R. 84 IN Ft. Lauderdale...Check me out holding the Black

Black Milk Snake I have 1.1 of these, the male is an early 08 and the female an 07 and they are just awesome!!! I love that they need cooler temps as well! Pretty much room temp is sufficient for these guys...at least in SoCal. Very easy maintenance and terrific eaters! Not aggressive in the slightest except for feeding time. Best snakes I have ever owned

Black Milk Snake I have 1.1 of these and they are my favorites!!! My 1.0 is a late 08 and my 0.1 is an 07. They eat like hungry hogs and never refuse a meal! They are gentle and awesome to handle, require low temps so you dont really need a heat source if you are in a decently warm climate type area (Im in SoCal). They are gorgeous and get 5-6 to even 7 feet long!!!! I definitely recommend to anyone!!!! So easy to care for and so much coolness in return!!!
