 Lampropeltis triangulum micropholis

Hello,

I am currently working with Lampropeltis t. micropholis.
These are very uncommon in the hobby. They grow to become the largest subspecies of Milk Snakes known in the world. My line originates from the southern portion of Colombia, near it’s boarder with Ecuador.
These are very robust snakes with a healthy appetite. They grow quickly. As juveniles the light colored bands of L. t. micropholis appear nearly white... these white bands often change to a more yellow or orange color in mature specimens. These snakes can lay large clutches, (as many as 15 eggs).

Ecuadoran Milks range from Panama through Colombia and south to Ecuador.
They do not occur in Venezuela.
(Milk Snakes from Venezuela have been proven to be L. t. andesiana)
Lampropeltis t. micropholis occur further south than any other species of Milk Snake.

The highland L. t. micropholis of Ecuador are threatened with extinction due to being mistaken for Micrurus species... and being killed by local people. An effort to educate the people living in these areas about proper identification would be extremely helpful in preserving the highland forms of Ecuadoran Milk Snakes from extinction.

The Ecuadoran Milks are very impressive animals!

I hope the information provided was helpful.
Take care.
