 Anyone live near Seattle, WA?

I volunteer at a rescue/pet store and there’s a small adult male rescue beardie there in need of a home. He came in with another male cage mate and they HATED each other. They were kept in a mesh cage with this like, crushed glass sand mixture type thing as a "substrate" and it was filthy. I’m sure they never had uvb or proper lighting in any way, and the only food in there was some dried up lettuce and dead meal worms.

Anyway, we separated them right away of course (not an easy task, I might add, because they were not nice anyway and were freaked out from traveling). Anyway, the second beardie found a home right away, after a stool sample and a quarantine period on paper towels instead of glass. He was much nicer than the other. So we were just starting to get him to come around when the place was broken into on Oct. 7 of last year. Every cat in the building was let out (some 40-50 rescues, some of which were in quarantine), every small animal was let out, about 9 leos were stolen along with a babyh ball python, both of these rescue dragons and the store pet dragon of over 6 years who was worth upwards of $300. The adult green iguana "Buddy" was also stolen and probably killed because his cage was shattered and he is not a friendly guy. So, we figured all the reptiles were gone.

About a month or so later, this dragon was found in a local park loose on the ground and brought in because the media had covered the story so we got him back. And to no one’s surprise, his hate for humans had only grown in his time away.

Anyway, he needs a home. He’s not easy to handle, and very small for his age. We are feeding him daily crickets, silkworms, wax worms, mustard and collard greens, but he’s not getting much bigger. He needs a home with an experienced reptile person who will understand how to socialize him to people a bit more and won’t be freaked out about being bitten. He’ll need lots of uvb, a large enclosure, a solid substrate, etc. Basically, he needs a second (or third or fourth) chance with people and we are hoping to find that for him. In the mean time, he’s living it up in our huge custom enclosure with shelves and things to climb on.

We won’t ship because we don’t usually and because he wouldn’t do well under the stress. So, if you can make the trip to Seattle, please come meet him! TM me for more info about his location and I might be able to get you some photos. Sorry about the long message, I love this little guy and I want to find him a fantastic forever home.
