Walked into my room and found Betty both front feet in her calcium dish, I just changed her calcium out and put new substrate down. She gave me this, "just what do you think your doing look", look.

Lins- we put a small dish of pure calcium in the tanks so the Leos can lick it when they want extra calcium, they need it to stay healthy

that’s adorable.

my leo Shlomo often dives head first into her calcium dish when i refill it. it used to freak me out because i thought she was highly deficient, but she gets calcium and calcium with d3 on a regular basis and she’s never had any problems in the 4 or 5 years ive had her.

I’m pretty sure all reptiles can benefit from a calcium dish (PURE calcium - D3 and other vitamins can cause problems in large amounts).

And yes - the first thing they do when you clean the tank is make little calcium foot prints ALL over it lol
