 HELP NEEDED

I have a leopard gecko and I am wondering what I can feed him. Normally I feed him mealworms and crickets but since there is a severe shortage of the meal worms I am really worried. He is the pickiest thing I have seen he FLAT OUT REFUSES TO EAT any of the mealworms that are dead I am at my wits end and worried for him :( I feed him crickets(live only the only thing he will eat)Help please

 HELP NEEDED

Calm down. Just stick with Crickets for a little while. If you want to have 2 things available to your geckos try Phoenix Worms, normally used as a treat but the next best thing when running low on another feeder insect. You can find these at Mulberryfarms.com for cheap. If the geckos are full grown you can also feed Superworms. Since the Mealworm shortage I have been using Superworms for the adults, and small crickets on my hatchlings and juveniles.

 HELP NEEDED

I lucked out with this meal worm shortage for my hatchlings and juvies. Since I had bought several 700 meal worm containers from PetCo and even though all my hundreds of meal worms are gone, they had laid eggs and those have hatched and grown for my little guys. If it’s full grown, you could try a few wax worms now and again, as a treat to entice something else.

If your using crickets get some gutload for them to eat for 24 hours before you put them in your guys tank and also dust them with calcium minus D3, Calcium with d3 (or a vitamin with calcium and d3) depending on what the feeding that day calls for.

I think I’ve also read about people feeding their leopard gecko silk worms, but have no tried that one yet!

i haven’t tried these, but i have heard from others that have , medium size or small size superworms.

i HAVE tried silkworms, they work nice because you can grow them out to different sizes and feed to certain geckos that way, i saved a bunch for my biggest geckos and grew the silkies out to like 2" hahahah, it was wild..
AND they don’t smell...

nutrionally i think they are fine, but they are not cheap...not anywhere near as economical as mealies
