 Leopard gecko substrate

Hi I have had my leopard gecko for about half a year. I have read so much stuff about sand substrate. I keep her on calci sand and she has a small ceramic dish that I put her food in. Is there a risk of imapction? Please help thanks!

If you really would have done research you wouldn’t have your gecko on calcium sand. Most if not ALL websites for any reptile do not recommend calcium sand. There is a risk of impaction, there is a risk of death with calcium sand. If you insist on using sand use sifted play-sand. There, even with sifted play-sand, is still a risk of impaction. Paper-Towles, Reptile Carpet, Tile, and any other solid substrate is highly recommended.

as long as they are on a loose substrate no matter if you feed in a dish or seperate container even.. there is always a risk of impaction

impaction is always a possibility with loose substrates.
