..just curious if anybody here is into rock climbing, bouldering, or indoor climbing...

Umm I rock climb. Its great. Bouldering? wow that sounds intense. Gotta try one day. Theres a 3 story climbing wall at my school and that makes for a good time killer. Anyone been skydiving?

I’ve watched strangers go bouldering at the Pinnacles in CA. And I’m pretty sure I will never do it unless I have to save an animal at the top of a cliff lol.

no climbing for me.. just good old fashioned hiking. hiking is fun when you actually do it carrying a large stick and get into ninja battles with friends while youre walking through the woods. plus you get to see lots of cool nature stuff.

hahaha, sweet ....i never read the replies when there was any...lol

yeah, i just started going to Central Parlk here in NYC< all the climbers hang out at a few different areas, but mostly RAT ROCK, which i think is the biggest place to do bouldering in the park...it’s a challenge, for sure...

i wish i had gotten into this a few years ago, it really is one of those things that you keep progressing with, like playing guitar or something, i guess.lol

since i can’t get to the woods to easily (i would love to do some ninja stuff..lofl) i have to settle for overcoming nature’s obstacles in the middle of NYC...hahaHAHa

I just joined the CCC, City Climbing Club, and have been indoor sport climbing on their walls about 4 times so far,
the outdoor stuff is different, but it’s great....i am going to try to alternate between indoor and outdoor...2x a week is my goal for now...

anyway, if you want to see the rocks in central park, google search for ’NYC Bouldering Guide’,
Rat Rock East face and North Face show some pic with routes on them, and gives history also..

anybody coming to NYC? make sure you check it out, the park is pretty cool...


I would LOVE to get out west or at least be able to travel and hit some spots along the way...
for now i look at bouldering dvds and magazines..

..someday I want to get to yosemite!!! i have to see those rocks...

also in NY we have ’the gunks’ although mostly horizontal cracks (compared to yosemite’s vertical ones), i heard it’s awesome there...have yet to make it..
need more experience, first
