 FOR ANYONE WHO’S ABOUT TO ASK WHY A L.L. ISN’T A SNAKE

please do not ask this question over and over and over again about why legless lizards are not snakes.

this is why they are not snakes:

1.snakes don’t have eyelids but ll’s do.

2.ll’s have a flap of skin on their side that can be easily seen.

3.they have ears, unlike snakes.

4. their scales are smoother and smaller and don’t stand out as much as snakes’ scales do.

5. their eyes usually look a bit smaller.

6. their tail can break off alot more easily than snakes, who rarely or never drop their tails.

7.they eat insects unlike the 96% of snake species that don’t.

8.their scales have a different pattern than snakes.

if i left something out, please add on.

This is just contributing to it. We already have multiple threads that have tried to explain it so this one was pointless.

Not all legless lizards have eyelids.

I’ve never seen, nor heard of, a snake that can intentionally make it’s tail break off. In fact, the only times I’ve seen a snake missing part of its tail was because the owner didn’t supervise when it fed the snake live prey, or there was stuck shed and the tail lost blood circulation and fell off. So, this should read "LLs’ tails break off while snakes’ do not."

And instead of making a new thread why not just bump up 1 of the 5,000 that are already posted just like this.
