No they are different in many ways

slow worms have eye lids un-like snakes
They are not as agile as snake
They canít dislocate their jaw like a snake

Iíve probably missed so more key differences, but they are a lizard and not a snake

The thing that always amazes me with slow worms it how the female can give birth to so many live young, Iíve seen 15 youngest come out of 1 female

No, itís still evolution. Over time, there must have been some advantage to losing the legs for this animal. Evolution simply means "changes over time", which can mean losing things just as well as gaining things.

well my theory with nsakes is that they lost theyre legbs and arms when food supply was scarce and they needed to use less energy to survive.

Legless lizards have external ears as well as eyelids, unlike snakes. They are also a lot shorter and stubbier, and will drop their tails just like their counterparts with legs.

my theory is they were underground so long that they didnt need legs, as glass lizards like to burrow

or maybe, legs are just useless to an animal that doesnt need to stand up. after all they dont have to get any where fast

in the bible snakes are considered the devils working after the eating of the apple. im not sayin there bad, iv owned my share. but evolution might have taken place with these creatures by making it easier to move through small holes.

you know what guys before the fall of man snakes had legs but glass lizards had none but then snakes were cursed by God search and read genesis 3:14-15 take the platypus for example how on earth did it evolve all those different thinngs? it didnt God created it that way because God has a sense of humor so he madde the platypus and he propably created the glass lizards for the same reason hes prolly up there laughing at evolutionists.

Okay this site is not for debating religious theories. The person asked why legless lizards have no legs and your answer is ’god did it’? You should be more respectful of other people.
even if that were how it happened that is not WHY.

this specific species of lizard fell into a niche like all animals do and in this niche over time for one reason or another its legs must have started to shrink.
Animals with smaller legs survived (maybe becuase they could burrow from predators or because they had an aptitude for hunting underground) and those that survived longer passed down the trait of having small legs. Well some of those offspring had even smaller legs and guess what? They thrived! The cycle would continue until the lizards were born without legs at all!

Now you may say why dont ALL lizards lose their legs if its better?
well thats because it was only better for those lizards in that area. another species in the same area may have decided to take to the trees and since there were airborn predators (the legless lizards had burrowed to escape from them) these arboreal lizards probably developed other traits like camoflage, third eyes for sesing overhead predators hightened speed and reflexes.

Evolution is essentailly mutation. A few animals with a mutated gene did really well and passed on that gene!
Animals that have mutated genes that do not do well die before they breed and therefore there are not many of those (this is why Albino animals are rare!)

Now you can say this is gods doing or not i really dont care. The fact of the matter is that this can be SEEN occuring all the time. Species change before our eyes. It takes a long time for a change to seem drastic but if you change a tiny bit every 50 years eventually you will not look like the same thing you started as. no one will notice becasue they are all too young to have known you when you were a lizard with legs but if they look into your past its clear as day to see.
