That is a very nice set-up, I hope to put walls on the inside of mine in the next year or two. What species is the new guy? I might look into one.

Nicely done; congratulations,

~Gus

Hi I’m new. Your enclosure is super nice. I’m sure your guy will be happy in his new home.

My enclosure has glass sides, do you think the wall lizards are more comfortable with solid sides instead?

Gus- why are you going to wait so long? It only took me a week or so to do those walls. and most of that time was letting the layers of paint dry.

Loriloveslizards - They should have walls that they can climb on. If you look through this forum you can see an old cage I had for wall lizards which was a glass tank with cork tiles stuck on the sides. Not only does it double the amount of usable cage space for the lizards it will provide some sense of security with the cage not being exposed on all ends.

here’s another pic, there will be lots more and videos to come :)

I have a cage that I built last year for my red-tail boa that I hope to put my Groznys in, or a couple wall lizards. Before I can put the walls in it for them I have to get my boa sold this spring.

It will be way over-kill for lacertas, but bigger is better. (Just to get an idea, my single bed is the top part that is cut out of the picture.)(About 6’3"Lx3’6"Dx3’6"T).

The cage they are currently in is mostly solid and has plenty of shelf and floor space, so it isn’t a rush.

It’s about 6’Lx2’Dx1’6"T.

Let me think. The wall lizards got thier own cage around six months ago. (Used to share with the Fence guy, Mr. Lizard) They really like the top mushroom ledges. That is where they sun themselves. So as much as I like the look and idea of walls on three sides, I want to see my lizards, I’ll stick with this set up. These lizards of mine hide most of the time though, probably cat related. The new male Valentino doesn’t hide yet, hope he stays self assured and out.
This cage 24 x 18 x 18 came with a Tokay Gecko stowed away in the box. He was so cold we thought he was dead. So I’m Holding him, talking to him all the while petting him as he lay up against my chest, saying "Poor Tokay Gecko". Took him upstair and put him on a heat pad with a towel over it until the girls cage got set up. Kept the Tokay over night and gave him to our local pet store the next day. After he was in his cage, my husband looking Tokay’s up on the internet finding out that a lot of them bite really hard and won’t let go unless you put them under running water. Boy, did I feel like a very lucky fool. "Poor Tokay Gecko", my @__!, could have bit the sh__ out of me!
OH, the green cardboard is for cat proofing. I’ve got one cat who thinks he should be able to sit on top of the cage. Screen is warped from his fat butt!

WOW!! That is bad A@@! Do you ever see your lizards? My girls would be in heaven in that cage.
Thanks for posting. With your cage and the first one posted, I now know what I need to make happen for my small group in the future. Getting my husband on board is the hard part though. He doesn’t share the same love for lizards that I do. But, he does take care of the crickets, that is something.
So your spot lights are movable? Way Cool.
