I have a young female Komodo she looks healthy but when I try to feed her pinhead crickets, she refuses to eat. what should i do?

what are you gutloading the pinheads with? they should be ok to feed... have you tried other items?

you can gutload with:

musclemen
small kids
farm animals
the mailman
delivery men
UPS guy
bill collectors
mom in laws

never dust with purple calcisand...alwasy use dirt!

I’ve found that the dirt in compost heaps is usually the best. It’s rich in banana peels, maggots, and the rotting carcasses of tooth fairies. The calcium from the tooth fairies is high in D-84683, though, so if he ingests any, you’ll have to keep a good eye on him to make sure he doesn’t contract caninitis, an infection of the funny bone.

Sumo wrestlers are a very poor choice. Not only are they, like all Japanese people, highly experienced at fleeing from giant reptiles, but their diaper pins can cause serious internal ijury if ingested. IN the event that you use them anyway, at least freeze them first, to kill parasite eggs. The last thing you want is mites, ticks, or ninjas hatching all over your komodorarium.

oh, and after freezing, remove the diaper pins. you can use these instead of tweezers to dangle the sumo in front of your KD. but, dont let the diaper fall off. ths will scare your poor komodo and he will run off! to keep it on, use duct tape! always keep duct tape and a screw driver handy, is what of all us rednecks say....

what if the duct tape gest stuck and causes impaction? I have lots of compost durt and I found some fairies in it too, so Thats one thing i don’t need to worry about. my koomodo ate a little last night.

leprechauns are the best thing you can find to inhance the color of your komodo dragon. in fact, its been researched that, leprechauns have an amazing amount of green coolaid in their system, which is very important for your dragon’s health.

In those cases I bring along my Komodo and let him loose on the Leppers. Be careful though as some komodos are allergic to rainbows.

I’ve tried breeding them before. Catching around 50 and putting them all in a rubbermaid container with a few magazines and some nice music. Closed the lid (remember to not add airholes!) and set in my closet.
Unfortunatly I forgot that too much music prevents them from molting so they all died.

So i fed them to my cat instead

its not so much that they cant have misic, but its the type of music... as far as i know, the only music that will get them to pupate, is heavy metal. and speed metal is even better! that will make them multiply!!!

and are you sure you put enough in there? 50 is not enough... they need to be packed real tight so that when they do start to pupate, they have to rub up against each other to rub the extoscelliton(sp) shell off.

no airholes or the music will escape!

Feeding leprochauns gold will result in severely overweight leprochauns. This means you will lose a disproportionate precentage of them to water dish drownings. Cereal and marshmallows are much better for them.
