What’s the light cycle? If temperatures are good, then an iguana that gets 12 hours of light and 12 hopurs of darkness should be pretty consistantly active while the lights are on. He’ll be okay with less sleep too though. You can stretch the light period to 14 hours and the other ten will still give him enough sleep, as long as he really can sleep then. No stereo cranking next to him or lights going on and off. Put a sheet over him at night like a parrot if you have to. In the wild, when it’s dark, they’re unconscious. "Night of the Iguana" is just a play, not a biology text.
If he’s sleeping when the lights are on, then there’s something else wrong. Usually it means they’re not warm enough. Or that the lights are being left on all night, which they shouldn’t be. Leads to a lot more fatigue than a more natural cycle does.

thats very good info, but i would like to add..what type of UVB are you using? some of the coils are not good and can cause serious eye probs (not the MVB).

are you sure hes/shes sleeping or just have its eyes closed. they will do this if there is a problem ie: eye infection. then you should flush the eyes out and take to the vet for meds. i also agree that it could be that the lights are on too long and couldbe messing up it’s system.

good luck and you might want to post this on the iguana forum if you already havent.
