 Blaze Blotched King

I have a 5 month old Blaze, she’s doing great, but any advice on keeping her entertained? She’s been rubbing the glass of her tank lately, and I don’t want her to rub her nose raw or hurt herself. She has a couple things to climb, hides, things like that, but lately the only thing she seems to want to climb is the glass of her cage and then fall over.

Some reptiles just doesn’t understand the concept of glass or it can be a cage size problem. My babies does it but they mouth doesn’t get scrapped or anything. You can resolve this by covering the glass.

Also kings will climb if allowed to so vines, plants, branches will give them something to do other than glass surf

Thanks, she’s got a couple climbs and her tank is pretty roomy, at least for the time being. Do your snakes have a favorite vine or climb? I’d love to get some ideas for when I get a bigger tank. I also have most of the glass covered, she tries to climb that too. I guess she is just super curious and always planning her great escape. She’s been holed up in her stump the last few days, looks like she’s fixing to shed. May have to get that new tank sooner than expected!

My babies are curious too its really funny. I use the large exo terra vines, Malaysian drift wood, plants and branches. His favorite place so far is by the screen lid, I have plants I tangled up so I hangs over and he really enjoys it.

Good idea with the hanging, thanks! She’s Day 3 into her MIA shed stump. I have a tendency to succumb to mother syndrome, but I get worried, LOL. We miss her when she holes up. There’s always a lil nagging worry that it won’t go smoothly, just from horror stories I’ve heard.

I’m a worry mom too lol some snakes will show aggression during shedding but what I do is checkup on them once to see if their fine. Just make sure to always check the head of the old skin first to see if the eye caps are there.
