9 month old California king is biting lately

I am new to this forum, have had my snake for about 4 months. He’s always been a bit weird about going in your clothing but seems a little worse lately. If he goes up your sleeve or down your shirt, he then bites or tries to bite when you take him out. Last week he bit my finger when I took him out to handle, a few days ago my boyfriend said he got bit while holding him. I think maybe I have been underfeeding him? I usually feed him a (smallish) fuzzy every 4 days and he gets it down in less than 4 minutes. He is approx. 20 inches long. I just fed him his first hopper 2 days ago and he has already digested it. Any thought on the biting escalation? Thanks from Voodoo Tiki

This is going to sound strange, but hold the snake more. He may need time to get used to you, also don’t hold him if you’ve been handling his food, he may be biting more because of it. Also, some kingsnakes can be like that, it may just take some time for him to mellow out.
