 Question About Night Crawlers

I have a few questions on breeding Night Crawlers. I want to raise them so my son has a steady supply for fish bait. I have no problem getting the set up. My question is about the temperature. I live in Northern California. In the summer is gets over 100 and low as 30 during the winter. Will they survive in a 50 gallon trash can? How do people keep them alive outside in these climates?

 Question About Night Crawlers

I’m currently raising Red Wiggler worms and they are thriving in a 65qt rubbermade container heated with a under tub heating pad keeping the container btwn 70 - 78 degrees farenheit. They are kept in a 2 part peat moss, 1 part top soil, 1 part sand mix that is kept very moist. If you Google search you’ll find lots more info.
