 HUMIDITY FOR ALL

I’ve been doing this since 2005 or so, when ANNIE, aka POCOCHU showed me her set up. They were here before me and the system was easily completed within an hours time.

STEP by STEP

Purchase an ULTRA SONIC humidifier ...they produce a visible fog... the non ultra sonic units don’t.
I prefer COOL MIST ... since that is all I purchase, I can only repeat to you what was told to me.

WARM MIST ultrasonic humidifiers will grow bacteria inside the unit and mildew faster ...causing you to clean more often. Cool Mist does not promote any growth of mildew or bacteria.

My favorite and most easily adapted humidifier is the VICKS 5100 because it has a round hole at the top where the humidity is discharged. It is approx 1 gallon and can run 24 hrs before refilling.

They make a jr model of the exact version but the water will run out faster...8-12 hr

VICKS 5100 cool mist

NEXT...
get some 2" abs at the Box store abs pipe is sold in the plumbing section. it is hard plastic with 1/4" thick walls.
My First section was 3 feet tall

added an elbow to get the bend into the area I wanted.

You have to heat up the end of the 2" ABS and spin it into the opening of the humidifier for a tight fit.
The ABS is about 1/8" to big in diameter. Use a torch or the stove and warm it up so it is soft ...

Fit the ABS into the humidifier with a spinning motion so it stays nice and round and fits tightly...before it cools off. If you mess up, just cut off the area you heated and start fresh. As long as you don’t melt it you will be fine...

The fit is snug but easily removed on a daily basis for refilling the water.

Purchase elbows and reducers as your application requires to get the height ...or bends you need.
I run 2" ABS reduced to 1.5"...reduced to 3/4" and finally 1/2" the reductions increase the velocity of the mist and the mist jets across the room / enclosure about 4-5 feet

These parts are less than a couple of dollars
My final set up in 2005 was for a chinese water dragon inside a display case ....today i use 2 in the living room for a free roaming Iguana

CHINESE WATER DRAGON ENCLOSURE

FREE ROAMING IGUANA

I didn’t like the height so I added 3 more feet and the flow was greatly reduced with the reducer bushings to get this

ADDED 1/2" PVC to get more velocity..... even more .....

I really like this set up and have used it for about 5 years now. Plus the other humidifier across the room just set up like normal ...right out of the box does great for the Boa constrictor and the whole room in general.

HAVE ANY QUESTIONS... holler

Some people goes as far as attaching plastic tubing to the 1/2" pipe and when they run it into an enclosure it is much more flexible ...and the clear color is basically invisible with the decor

FUN FUN FUN
